StripFest Amsterdam

Stripfest is a vibrant one-day festival in the Hamerkwartier, Amsterdam North, on Saturday 30 May 2026, featuring over 25 venues packed with live music, workshops, exhibitions and food. The focus is on free daytime activities, including a spectacular performance by Acting The Maggot Trio at De VerbroederIJ at 4.30 pm.

What is Stripfest

Stripfest transforms the Hamerkwartier into one huge stage featuring art, music, food and culture spread across more than 25 venues. During the day (from 09:00 to 22:00), everything is free for young and old alike, with activities such as workshops, mindfulness sessions and live performances. In the evening, you’ll need a pass (€25) for the night-time programme, which runs until 03:00.

History of Stripfest

Stripfest celebrates the cultural freedom and creativity of the Strip in Amsterdam-Noord, which has been a hotspot for local entrepreneurs for years. The festival supports neighbourhood development by connecting residents and creators, with editions such as in 2025 and now on 30 May 2026. Venues such as De VerbroederIJ, Oedipus Spätkauf and Goudfazant are collaborating to create a unique day and night experience.

Programme at De VerbroederIJ

De VerbroederIJ (Strandzaal and beach) is hosting a free afternoon from 13:00 to 20:00 with various acts. Highlights: mindfulness at 11:00, painting workshop 11:00–14:00, Lizan & Ollie at 13:00, local talent at 14:30, Acting The Maggot at 16:30 and Noordercollectief at 18:00. Just pop in, no ticket needed!

Acting The Maggot Trio

Acting The Maggot Trio bring Irish party folk that’s sure to get you moving: think rousing sounds à la The Pogues, Flogging Molly and The Dubliners, live with ballads and party music. This Dutch party band plays 100% live as a trio and tours internationally; their performance at 16:30 at De VerbroederIJ is a must for fans of Irish energy.
