Irish Festival Hoogeveen 2025: Drops of Green and Acting The Maggot back on stage
Irish Festival Hoogeveen celebrates 16th edition with top acts
On Saturday 27 September 2025 ,the 16th edition of the Irish Festival Hoogeveen will take place at theatre De Tamboer. The annual festival brings the magic of Ireland to Drenthe with live performances by authentic Irish bands. This year ‘s bill includes Acting The Maggot and Drops of Green.
The Irish Festival Hoogeveen started in 2008 and grew into a household name among lovers of Irish music. With the exception of the corona period, the festival was held annually. Big names like The Kilkenny’s, The Dublin Legends, The Whistlin’ Donkeys and Sharon Shannon have been on stage before . Acting The Maggot is no longer an unknown in Hoogeveen either: they are at the festival for the second time this year .
Acting The Maggot and Drops of Green at Irish Festival Hoogeveen
On Saturday 27 September, Hoogeveen will once again turn green. Although the musicians of Acting The Maggot do not need to fly from Ireland, they will gladly travel to Drenthe for an evening of Irish ballads, sing-alongs and party music. Together with Drops of Green, they will ensure an unforgettable atmosphere in De Tamboer this evening.
This is not the first time we have shared the same stage with Drops of Green. We already played on the same stage during Balver Höhle Irish festival and last year at the St Patrick’s Day festival in The Hague on the Grote Markt.
